The groups entertain visitors at the Kalinago Barana Autê
Their aim is to revive, help and maintain Kalinago tradition through song, dances, herbal medicine and some aspects of the ancient Kalinago language, all which have contributed to a sense of belonging.

Through their cultural activities, these groups have created awareness among the younger generation, the wider Dominican society and by extension the region. These groups have traveled throughout the Caribbean, as well as North and South America promoting aspects their culture.

Honoring and inspired by their history and people, the Karifuna and Karina cultural group culminates your visit at the Kalinago Barana Autê. With their drums, dance and songs, the award winning Karifuna and Karina cultural performances unite the past with the present and the spirit of their ancestors come alive in their songs and rhythmic drumming.
